Biography

Dr. Michael Giersig is Professor at Freie University Berlin, Dept. of Physics and at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materiallien und Energie GmbH, Institute of Nanoarchitectures for Energy Conversion; Berlin. He have recieved his PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Freie University Berlin, Germany. He was Awarded with the Lee Hsun Research Award on Materials Science by the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. He is also the Foreign Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is Co- Inventor of 10 patents and Co-Founder of two companies. Dr. Giersig has published over 258 internationally refereed publications covering physics, chemistry, materials science, biochemistry, medicine, nanotechnology and engineering, and his work has been cited 18051 times quoted in the ISI Index (without self-citations) at an average of over “71,4” citations per publication He was Organizer of the session “2 Decades of Self-assembeled adv. Mater.” at PACIFICHEM 2015, USA.
