Biography
Xiushan Zhu received his Ph.D degree in optical sciences from the University of Arizona in 2008, specializing in fiber lasers and fiber devices. After three years working as a postdoctoral research associate, he became an Assistant Research Professor at the College of Optical Sciences of the University of Arizona in 2011 where he is currently an Associate Research Professor. His research interests include fiber optics, fiber lasers and amplifiers, solid-state lasers, and nonlinear optics. He is also a Senior Optical Scientist at NP Photonics focusing on the research and development of advanced glass and fiber lasers. He has published over 35 articles in refereed journals and has been awarded two patents. He is a member of the OSA and SPIE. He is serving as an Assistant Editor for Journal of Optical Society of America B.
