Prof. Dr. Mikhail E. Belkin received an engineering degree in radio and television from Moscow Institute of Telecommunications, in 1971, Ph. D. degree in telecommunication and electronic engineering from Moscow Technical University of Telecommunications and Informatics, in 1996, and Sc. D. degree in photonics and optical communications from Moscow State Technical University of Radio-Engineering, Electronics and Automation, in 2007. He has written more than 250 scientific works in English and Russian. The major current R&D fields are fiber-optic devices and systems, microwave photonics, photonic ICs, incoming cellular communication networks, computer-aided design. At present, M. E. Belkin is the Director of the Scientific and Technological Center “Integrated Microwave Photonics”, Professor of the department “Optical and Optoelectronic Devices and Systems”, Institute of Physics and Technology, MIREA - Russian Technological University, and he is a member of IEEE’s MTTS, LEOS (now PNS), and COMSOC from 2006, and a member of OSA from 2018.

Albrecht Lindinger has earned his Ph.D. on helium droplet spectroscopy in Göttingen in the group of Prof. Dr. J.-P. Toennies and took his postdoc term in Berkeley in the group of Prof. Dr. D. Neumark. He received his habilitation in the field of coherent control at the Freie Universität Berlin in the group of Prof. Dr. L. Wöste and is now a lecturer (PD) in the Institute of Experimental Physics at the Freie Universität Berlin. He has published 91 peer-reviewed papers in reputed journals. His main scientific interests are laser optics, coherent control, and biophotonics.

Chubar has completed his PhD at the age of 28 from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute and worked on scientific positions in Kurchatov Institute (Moscow, Russia), European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Grenoble, France), SOLEIL Synchrotron (Paris, France), and Brookhaven National Laboratory (New-York, USA). He is currently leading electrodynamics simulations team at the National Synchrotron Light Source II at BNL. He has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals and ~130 papers in proceedings of conferences on accelerator physics, synchrotron radiation, X-ray optics. He has been serving as an editorial board member of repute and chaired conferences at SPIE.

Dr. Elias Sakellis received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Physics, University of Athens. Since then he works as an associate researcher at the Department of Physics of the University of Athens and at the National Center for Scientific Research DEMOKRITOS, Athens, Greece. His current research interests include the synthesis of nanostructured materials with E-beam PVD, chemical and electrochemical methods as well as the study of their structural, electrical, and optical properties. He is the author of more than 45 research papers with more than 340 citations. He has extended experience in electrical measurements of various materials, as well as, expertise in structural, crystallographical, and electronic configuration characterization of nanostructures -including nanoparticles- with scanning electron transmission microscopy (SEM) electron microscopy (TEM), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).

He is a full professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Kütahya Dumlupınar University in Turkey since 1998. He is also the Director of Photonics Technologies Application and Research Center. His research interests are novel erbium-doped fiber amplifier designs for broadband optical communication systems, wideband wavelength-tunable fiber ring lasers, and fiber optic sensor systems. He has published more than 50 international journal and conference papers on fiber optic-based communication and sensor system applications.
