Biography
Rinku Basak received B.Sc. Engg. (Electrical & Electronic Engg.) degree from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Khulna, Bangladesh in 2004, he received M.Sc. Engg. (Electrical & Electronic Engg.) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2007 and after that he enrolled in PhD in EEE at the same university. He started his teaching career as a Lecturer of EEE Department of Engineering Faculty of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Banani, Dhaka, Bangladesh in May 2005. He became Assistant Professor in January 2009 and worked as Head of Undergraduate Program of the EEE Department of AIUB till August 2012. Since September 2012, Mr. Basak is working as Head of Postgraduate Program of the EEE Department of AIUB. He is also Academic Council member of AIUB. Mr. Basak has been involved in research on Semiconductor Lasers specially, on Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) since May 2006 and published research papers in different standard Journals & Conferences. He is working as Special Editorial Assistant of The AIUB Journal of Science and Engineering (AJSE), Bangladesh since September 2008. He is working as Technical Program Committee member & Reviewer of The International Conference on Consumer Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet), China since 2013. He worked as a reviewer of different international journals like Journal of Materials Science and Engineering (A & B), David Publishing Company, USA, Scientific Research and Essays (SRE), Nigeria, Optoelectronics and Advanced Materials - Rapid Communications (OAM-RC), Romania. Mr. Basak is a Member of IEEE USA and the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB).
Research Interest
His research interests are on high power and high speed VCSELs; Violet Laser, Blue Violet Laser, True Blue Laser and Red Laser; Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA) and Erbium Dropped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA); Electromagnetic Wave Theory and Microwave Communications, Microwave Antennas and 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) communication devices.
